Blur in my portrait

Not much is known about this shot apart from the fact that it was taken by a Canon XSi 450D. It does have interesting concepts in it. Did the blurred out light head covering in the frame take up too much of the shot or cause a contrast distraction? Love the rough wood contrast though.
